Art Direction
A Escada
An academic brief for the Art Direction course: design a fictional poster to persuade people not to sit on the institution's staircases. Since it fell in October, I leaned on Halloween and pushed the piece towards a retro horror-film poster, with washed-out colours and copy that is both intimidating and tongue-in-cheek. The headline, "sitting on the stairs can raise the risk of deadly stares from passers-by", threatens the reader indirectly and nudges them to avoid it. A green column on the right builds a background layer, "sitting on the stairs, deadly risks, coming through", as if a threat were lurking, deepening the mystery and suspense.
